Netherlands Maritime University offers a part-time Master Shipping and Transport program in Rotterdam as of November 2011. The part-time program is identical in content and form to the full-time program, and has a total duration of two years and three months. As soon as the start date for 2012 is known, it will be published here.
The degree, the course content and the faculty are the same as you would experience in our full-time program. The only difference is that the part-time program’s schedule is tailored for working professionals who wish to combine their daytime jobs with higher education in the field of port, shipping and transport management. The classes of the part-time program are conducted twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursday in evening hours (6.30 - 9.30 PM). Occassionaly, excursions, simulator exercises or management games will be scheduled on Fridays.
More than in the full-time program, the part-time program requires dedicated self-study.

Master Classes ; sneak preview of the part-time Master Shipping and Transport!
NMU offers you an excellent chance to get to know the Master program by offering you a sneak preview with our Master Classes. The Master Classes are based on the different courses that are offered by NMU’s Master Shipping and Transport in which leading maritime experts and associate lecturers from NMU combine theory and practice into a diverse evening program. Interesting themes have been touched already, such as ‘port safety, ‘fleet management’ and ‘the maritime labour market’. The Master Classes are organised once every five to six weeks, often in cooperation with Jong Havenvereniging. Therefore they will be frequently combined with the monthly networking drinks of Jong Havenvereniging.
Feel free to attend our Master Classes and discuss with us about interesting maritime topics while at the same time extending your network and get to know all about our Master program!
