NMU has different study counselling and coaching facilities for master students. The goal is to inform a student as good as possible and to give him/her all the help for eventually successfully graduating the Master Shipping & Transport. On different areas a student can get all different kinds of help from the study counsel. These areas are:

Website to inform students;
Web based e-learning platform for course material;
“Stichting de Loopplank” for housing the students from abroad;
International counselling;
A dedicated employee 'student counsel' form the 'Innovation and Quality' department
The student counsel can advise students on a wide range of issues such as accommodation, student enrolment, insurances, residence permits and legal questions;
The study counsel gives information about the educational programme and the regulations applying to these programmes;

NMU aims to attract high professional adult students. It is expected that the students themselves indicate when counselling is needed. Therefore:

The lecturers have an open door policy at fixed hours;
Every lecturer can be contacted through e-mail and the lecturer will act adequate on these e-mails;
On a special website and with e-mail notifications the students will be informed.

International counselling

The study counsel can advise and coach international students on a wide range of issues such as accommodation, student enrolment, insurances, residence permits and legal questions.
